The Old Manse Hotel, was built for the Baptist minister Benjamin Beddome in 1748 as a reward from the locals so that he would not be tempted away to work in London or Bristol. The hotel is literally on the banks of the River Windrush in the centre of Bourton On The Water. For centuries the area has been the a tourist attraction as a typical Cotswold village. We serve our full menu throughout the bar and restaurant and aim to suit all taste buds. We have extended our Riverside Patio to accommodate extra people so that you can watch the world go by in the 'Venice of the Cotswolds'. Also, for those of you looking for a quieter spot, we have a small pond-side patio at the rear of the restaurant. For our guests' comfort, the whole building is now non-smoking, this does include the bar area and all of our rooms. Please be aware that the hotel has no lift or ground floor rooms.
15 bedrooms, all en-suite equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, an iron and ironing board, tv, phone and wardrobe and draws. 2 of which are feature rooms with views of the river and front patio area. The Windrush suite is a four-poster super king-sized bed with a jacuzzi bath and shower. The Beddome suite has a half sleigh bed and a nice en-suite bathroom 2 other rooms also face the river and are located on the second floor. The remaining 8 main hotel rooms are compact double rooms, some with bath & showers and other with just showers. Please note that some of our bedrooms have the wash basin in the bedroom and not the bathroom. The 3 remaining rooms are in our cottage which is located behind the hotel. These consist of 1 twin room, 1 standard double room and 1 small double. This is normally the quietier rooms as there is very little passing trade on the street.
