Listed in the Domesday Book, this historic manor house hotel is set in acres of beautiful grounds, in a delightful Wiltshire village convenient for Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham and Swindon. The hotel is close to junction 17 of the M4. The house was once owned by Lord Burghley, chief minister to Queen Elizabeth I, and was rebuilt in 1840. Stanton Manor Hotel has been completely refurbished, and the new owners, Robert and Linda Davis, are on hand to ensure that a friendly and attentive service is extended to guests. Modern facilities and comforts combine easily and unobtrusively with those of the past, which include magnificent Tudor fireplaces and stone flooring. The hotel's en suite bedrooms are spacious and individually designed with very comfortable furniture. Four hotel rooms have king-size four-poster beds to compliment the stunning New Oriental or Provençal themed rooms.

It is not known exactly when the Kings Arms Hotel was first built. Rumour has it that the stones for Salisbury Cathedral - situated opposite the hotel, were cut in what is now our Chapter House Restaurant in 1220 A.D. a good indication can be found in the same material being used in the various Hotel fireplaces. Subsequent styles have added to it's charm, notably that of the Tudor era evident in King Charles II suite. Many oak beams are original as is the wrought iron work.
Our hotel offers 17 bedrooms and a large bar and restaurant area. All of these areas have been newly refurbished and offer a relaxing atmosphere for our guests to enjoy a drink and home-cooked meal.
