The Barns Hotel is situated in a beautiful riverside location, within 3.5 acres of landscaped gardens, yet just 10 miles from the M1 and 8 miles from A1. The tranquil setting offers views of the great River Ouse and the local country park and wonderful grounds in which to stroll and relax. For more strenuous activities, guests have access to the local Oasis Fitness and Leisure Club. Samuel Whitbread, founder of the brewing business, was born in the main house in 1720 and it remained within the Whitbread family until 1890s, becoming a hotel in 1987.
Please be advised that the hotel restaurant will be closed for dinner service on the following dates. A limited bar menu will be available in the hotel. However, please be aware that on these dates, the hotel will be hosting a disco, therefore the hotel may be noisy and public areas may be busy. September 2007: 01, 08, 14 and 15 December 2007: 01 and 22.
