A Country House Hotel set in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Your ideal central location for a memorable stay. Formerly a Country House and Sporting Lodge used by members of the Royal Family. Dalrachney Lodge dates from 1845 and was, up to 1970, a Sporting Lodge central to one of Scotland's largest Estates. Additions were made through the turn of the century, linking the Victorian and Edwardian periods. Today we are set in 16 acres of peaceful surroundings, bordered on two sides by the Dulnain River. No modern extensions or accommodation annexes will be found here - only original buildings. We are situated on the outskirts of the historic village of Carrbridge, described by Queen Victoria as 'The Jewel of the North'. Many other members of the Royal Family have stayed here as private guests of the Estate owner, including King George v who was a great sportsman. Often used for tv location shoots including 'Monarch of the Glen'. Due to a change in Scottish Law, all public rooms and bedrooms are non-smoking. We have covered smoking areas outside the Lodge building.

700 ft above the village of Kinlochleven to the north. 700Ft above sea level on the slopes of Am-Bodach, with spectacular views over Loch Leven. Down to the pap of Glencoe stands Mamore Lodge on its eerie like perch. Mamore was built at the turn of the century for Captain Frank Bibby. Bibby is possibly the worlds oldest independent shipping company and is now run by the sixth generation. The family were great hosts and entertained King Edward, Viscount Churchill and Sir Henry Fairfax-Lucy. Deer still roam the estate and with its spectacular landscape it has featured in the films Rob Roy and Brave Heart. The Estate covers 45,000 acres. Munro peaks over 3,000ft, giving access to lots of high and low level walks from the lodge itself. It is also known as a great place to stay by those walking the West Highland Way, a now famous long distance walk. Well situated for exploring the West Highlands by car, with many beautiful areas just a day trip away, you'll be sure of a friendly welcome on return. Mamore Lodge has retained much of its original character. Built to withstand the extremes of the Highland winters, it stands as firm as on the rock it was built. Inside, the hotel has 12 comfortably appointed rooms, 10 of which are en suite, most of them retaining the lovely pitch pine panelling, a further 5 twin rooms with en suite are provided in the nearby motel. The dining room, guests lounge and bar all have views out onto the surrounding mountain scenery; the bar with its open fire is an ideal place to relax before enjoying one of our wonderful tasty meals.
