This friendly and charming hotel is situated in the pretty village of Chesterton near Bicester. On the doorstep of Oxfordshire, the Bignell Park Hotel is set in 2.5 acres of secluded informal gardens. Construction of Bignell Park Hotel started in the mid 18th Century and was originally part of Bignell Park Manor House as the Estate Mews. By the 19th Century, Bignell Park was converted into a private residency, but with its beautiful Cotswold charm and its two and a half acres of land, its potential was all too obvious, so it was transformed into a country house hotel with a restaurant. All our rooms are individually designed and seek to maintain the original charm of this wonderful property, whilst providing all the modern amenities desired by the most discerning clientele. Each of our rooms is decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard. All take advantage of the beautiful surroundings and views. Oxfordshire hotel, Fallowfields in Kingston Bagpuize is a beautiful country house (once home to Begum Aga Khan), dating back over 300 years and now offering stunning accommodation in the tranquil Vale of the White Horse - only 15 minutes from the historic and beautiful Oxford City. Set in 12 acres of mature trees and magnificent gardens, the hotel offers an exquisite retreat. You can stretch your legs around our beautiful Oxfordshire grounds, absorbing the special ambience that comes with over 300 years of peaceful pastoral history - as one guest said: \This house smiles at you\. There are ten highly individual bedrooms to accommodate you, your family and friends - elegant, comfortable and beautifully appointed - they are as warm as your welcome. Our four-poster and luxurious king-sized beds (splittable) should afford you a restful sleep. All ten rooms have wonderful power showers and some have spa baths. Fine food is prepared for you by Head Chef, Adam Abbott, and our prolific, near-organic kitchen garden. From herbs such as Lovage or Sorrel, to daily-picked vegetables that reawaken your tastebuds, you will dine elegantly in our candlelit dining room. Our food is imaginatively styled and presented as well as tasting fantastic -- and it is good for you. Fallowfields restaurant was recently given three 'dining awards' by the RAC and a gourmet guide described us as \one of the best hotel restaurants in the County\. In addition to our hospitality we offer that rarest of assets - tranquillity. We also maintain a no-smoking policy in all our bedrooms as well as in the dining room, and in our other public rooms we ask that smokers defer to the wishes of all present. After you have made your acquaintance of the hotel, your accommodation and the garden, we are sure you will feel instantly at home. With the delightful informality of a family house, Fallowfields will be your home away from home, where attention to detail and personal service makes every single visit more memorable than the last.
Fallowfields Country House Hotel is set in twelve magnificent acres of superb gardens, lawns, meadows and an orchard. It provides a restful backdrop against which you can take tea or in which you can wander at peace with the world. We have ten beautiful hawks, three Harrises, a Red Tail and a Cooper's, at various stages of their flying training, who have been providing a fascinating insight for our guests into this ancient practice. Throughout the day, they sit contentedly on our lawn, by their very presence keeping rabbit and pigeon out of our two acre kitchen garden and orchards. If this isn't green pest control ..... They are flown at various times of the day, often in the early evening as our guest's arrive and are taking a drink on the terrace whilst preparing themselves for dinner. Observe their innate intelligence as well as their obviously strong relationship with their handler. For many, watching these magnificent raptors and perhaps a few minutes talk with James our falconer, Anthony, the owner, or Alexi his early teenage daughter, is enough. For many others, the opportunity to fly a hawk for themselves is an immensely rewarding experience and perhaps the opportunity of a life time. A half hour's flying lesson is £30.00. An hour £45.00. You will be closer to one of nature's most beautiful creatures than you ever thought possible. You will feel the power of her talons through your falconer's glove. You will experience the thrill of launching her from your gloved fist. If you feel confident, you will also experience the immense high as she loops silently toward you, inches from the ground, and then at the last minute soars to your fist to take the proffered titbit.

This quintessential English Inn is situated 8 miles south of Oxford and 4 miles east of Abingdon. We are situated in the small village of Clifton Hampden, close to the River Thames. Our hotel dates from 1400 - timber beams, inglenook fireplaces and a thatched roof are just some of the original features. Our bar offers draught ales, fine wines, spirits and brandies and perhaps that special cocktail or two! Our intimate and cosy restaurants offer a varied menu, which include home-made food, fresh vegetables and vegetarian dishes. 8 en-suite bedrooms are available, all tastefully decorated and furnished, most with antiques. Many rooms have either a four-poster or half-poster bed. In addition to all of these creature comforts, all of our overnight guests are served a 'traditional' English cooked breakfast which is included in the room price. We are a totally non-smoking establishment, although smokers are welcome in our designated outside areas.
The hotel restaurant is in the Michelin recommendation guide 2007.
